Village People Sweep Grammys After Trump Executive Order
First artist or group to win Best New Artist 48 years after their debut.
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards were last night and, according to one confused man, numerous records was shattered.
After a full night of typical proceedings in which all awards were handed out, President Donald Trump signed a new Executive Order that established that the musical group, Village People, won every award at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
The official Executive Order reads:
The Executive Order goes on to detail intent to solidify the following wins, among others:
BEST NEW ARTIST
Village People
ALBUM OF THE YEAR
The Best of Village People (1994)
PRODUCER OF THE YEAR, NON-CLASSICAL
Producer of Village People
BEST DANCE/ELECTRONIC ALBUM
The Best of Village People (1994)
BEST PROGRESSIVE R&B ALBUM
The Best of Village People (1994)
SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR, NON-CLASSICAL
Songwriter for Village People
The legal pathway to solidifying these wins for Village People is murky at best, as The Recording Academy doesn’t technically fall under the Executive Branch, or any branch of the federal government for that matter.
However, since this is Donald Trump’s Executive Order, it’s entirely possible that it could effect change beyond its usual limits. In that case, Village People would immediately break the record for most Grammys won in a single night.
