Trend Report: Look-Alike Contests Brutally Humbling For Celebs
Could the "Dave Franco Look-Alike Contest" signal a dying trend?
Over the past few weeks, a trend called "look-alike contests" has taken over major cities and social media feeds.
A look-alike contest is a gathering where the chronically online meetup and judge contestants based on how similar they look to the chosen celebrity.
While these are seemingly a fun events for attendees, what about the people truly affected by these events? What about the celebrities?
Celebrities like Timothée Chalamet, Harry Styles, and Dev Patel have all been victims of these events wherein average, normal-looking human beings believe themselves to look similar to beautiful celebs.
Said one of the celebrities:
"That guy?! They think that guy looks like me? If I looked like that, I’d be working at a bank."
Not only do the celebs dislike being compared to a shockingly average-looking person, but it also has a negative, almost humbling-like effect.
In fact, in each case of a celebrity enduring a "look-alike contest," it was found that the very next day they fired a member of their PR staff.
But hope is on the way, as a recently held and sparsely attended "Dave Franco Look-Alike Contest" could signify the trend is in its final stage.
Celebrities around the world can only hope and pray this is true.
