President Elect Trump Sentenced to the Prison That Is Shame
What’s worse than jail time? The prison of shame in the form of an unconditional discharge.
This morning President Elect Donald Trump was charged with an unconditional discharge for falsifying business records to cover up a sex scandal.
The unconditional discharge leaves Trump with no jail time or any other requirements to fulfill, but does leave him with the biggest punishment there is: shame.
The judge who formalized Trump’s status as a felon stated:
“The shame of your peers knowing you did wrong is, in some ways, far more consequential than, say, prison time, probation, fines, or community service.
Make no mistake about it: Donald Trump is in prison. The prison that is shame.”
What’s worse?
While Donald Trump will be inaugurated as President of the United States on January 20th, due to his formalized status as a convicted felon, good luck getting the next job.
After his second term as president, Donald Trump will find himself entering a job market as an 82-year old convicted felon. Not ideal.
Of course with shame, comes a hit to one’s reputation.
Before becoming a convicted felon, Donald Trump was known as an upstanding man who was simply accused of being a felon and merely liable of sexual abuse.
Now, with his title of convicted felon, his calling card that was character and integrity1 will take a hit.
But all is not lost for Mr. Trump.
He happens to find himself entering the White House in just over a week, where he’ll have one of the most powerful positions in the world: President of the United States.
Unfortunately, for the duration of his presidency, he’ll be carrying a huge weight on his back: the burden of shame.
