Economy Update: A Bird in the Hand Now Worth Three in the Bush!
Never a better sign… I think.
The economy is difficult to understand. Not for me, of course, but for most people.
What is most important: a rise in the stock market, or the value of the U.S. dollar?
Does consumer spending mean more to a healthy economy than inflation?
And why did my Advil guy raise his prices?
There are so many economic metrics to worry about and it can be overwhelming and confusing (again, not for me, but probably for others).
Well, get ready, because there’s been an important update to an age old economic metric:
A bird in the hand is now worth three in the bush!
The update comes from the White House during a press briefing:
“We’re happy to report the economy is doing so well that a bird in the hand is now worth three in the bush.
That’s up one in the bush from last quarter.
We’re thrilled with the progress this administration is making, and look forward to the day where a bird in the hand might even be worth four in the bush.”
As an economic strategist, I’m hesitant to suggest this is the most important economic indicator, however, a bird in the hand has never been worth more than two in the bush, so we’re in unprecedented territory.
Keep your eyes on the bush.
