Biden Uses Thanksgiving Day Loophole to Pardon “His Little Turkey”
Biden uses the power of semantics to show off his mental prowess.
For decades, American presidents have engaged in the Thanksgiving tradition of pardoning a turkey.
After many unremarkable turkey pardons, President Joe Biden decided to shake things up this year.
When President Biden was asked to select a turkey to pardon, he chose “his little turkey” - his son Hunter.
Using the power of semantics, President Biden pulled a fast one on everyone and used the Thanksgiving pardon on his son, explaining:
“When Hunter was young, I called him my ‘little turkey.’ So he technically qualifies for my pardon of a turkey and not an entirely separate pardon.”
President Biden’s Chief of Staff supported the move stating, “Although the President could have just given his son a pardon anyway, I like the mental maneuver he made here. It shows he’s sharp and he’s still got it.”
After this savvy move, many in the Democratic Party are hoping to keep Biden and his sharp mind in some type of leadership role post-presidency.
