"Barbie" Has Arrived!
The film boasts a NBST (Negative Ben Shapiro Tweet) score of 5, setting it up for a nice run at the Academy Awards.
Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” has arrived and is seemingly taking over the world.
Gerwig's film tells the story of a Barbie, played by Margot Robbie, whose ideal life is interrupted when she begins having existential thoughts of death and finding her place in the world. Along for the ride is Ken, played by Ryan Gosling. The two reside in Barbieland, but journey into the real world to see if there is more to their existence.
I quite enjoyed the film and, frankly, it reminded me a lot of ”The Grand Budapest Hotel,” or even the 2001 film, ”Legally Blonde” regarding how pink the film is.
The film also boasts an incredibly high NBST1 number of 5.
The theater I watched this film in was air-conditioned as well and so “Barbie” receives an extra points for that.
ASS News Rating: A+
NBST is our new predictive statistic where we use the amount of Negative Ben Shapiro Tweets a film receives within 2 weeks of its release. Additionally, we factor in Rotten Tomato scores and can then reasonably predict how successful a film will be at the Academy Awards. The predictive statistic is built based on Ben Shapiro's negative reviews of films such as “The Shape of Water,” “The Batman,” and “Glass Onion.” All of these films were wildly successful with critics and received Academy Awards nominations.
Based on “Barbie's” NBST rating of 5, we predict the film will receive 9 Academy Awards nominations, and will win 4 Academy Awards.
