It’s been a week since conservative political activist, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated, and since his passing, I’ve seen too many people dredging up Charlie’s worst quotes.

My plea to those people would be: please, let’s not remember Charlie by his dozens of vile comments, but instead, let’s remember him by his few good ones.

I’ve seen far too many people post his bad quotes, such as:

• "If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.’”1

• "[Trans people] are an abomination to God."2

• “We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the mid-1960s.”3

When instead, we should be focusing on his good quotes, like:

That nice quote above highlights what I believe people misunderstand about Charlie: when he wasn’t saying something political, he was the spitting image of Christ.

And I’m not alone in this sentiment. Our country’s very own H.H.S. Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., posted this on X4 yesterday:

Charlie often looked to the Bible for guidance too, saying:

• "In Leviticus 18, [it says] ‘thou shall lay with another man, shall be stoned to death.’ Just saying… [this] affirms God’s perfect law…"5

• "Submit to your husband, [women]. You’re not in charge.”6

• "We should absolutely raise the retirement age… I don’t think retirement is biblical.”7

So, please, now is not the time to focus or bring up Charlie Kirk’s words, such as:

• “[Black people] were actually better in the 1940s. It was bad. It was evil. But what happened? Something changed. They committed less crimes.”8

• “[Joe Biden should be] put in prison and/or given the death penalty…”9

• "It’s funny, I used to say if you as a gay person would go to Gaza, they’d throw you off of tall buildings, but now they don’t have any tall buildings left…"10

• "Someone should have just took care of [transgender people] the way we used to take care of things in the 1950s and 60s."11

• "[Joy Reid, Ketanji Brown Jackson, Shiela Jackson Lee, and Michelle Obama] do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously, [they] had to go steal a white person’s slot…”12

• “MLK was awful. He's not a good person."13

He was a patriot, after all; he loved this country. For that, he at least deserves to not have his words be quoted verbatim, especially so soon after his passing. Slandering and politicizing the recently deceased is not what Charlie would’ve done.14

We should instead put our efforts, not into posting divisive quotes, but into tribute videos like this one made by a fellow patriot on TikTok:

So, let’s choose to use this time to come together, to heal, and to lead with empathy15 (no matter what side of the political aisle you’re on!) so that we can turn down the temperature in this country.16

Over the past few days, large groups of protesters have gathered in Los Angeles to march against ICE raids.

Tensions grew when President Trump called in the National Guard and Marines to stand by and domineer.

Some Americans watched the scene from afar through TVs and phones, witnessing the alarming display of power and thought, “DON’T BURN THAT FUCKING WAYMO!”

Many families have been separated; people taken off the street because of the color of their skin, and held without due process.

It’s a breach of the United States Constitution, it’s a reckless, inhumane tactic and it is not what this country is about.

When asked for comment, one American said, “Let me play devils advocate: a Waymo was burned to the ground !”

It seems this country remains harshly divided.

Americans are at an impasse where some are offended by the separation of families and the transition to fascism, while others are mostly offended by the burning of a driverless car.

But the Waymo defenders’ primary concern is to uphold law and order, and who could blame them?

Without law and order, felons would be roaming the streets or worse: taking over this very country!

The overall tone of America’s reaction to the scene in Los Angeles seems to be summed up best by the one American from earlier:

“I don’t think the President should necessarily have the power to sidestep a state governor, or to call in the military, and use the military against citizens… but also, you can’t just burn Waymos.”

On Monday morning the Blue Origin tech company launched a crew into space comprised of six women: Gayle King, Lauren Sanchez, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, Kerianne Flynn, and popstar Katy Perry.

The crew’s mission lasted roughly 11 minutes and took them far enough into space where they experienced weightlessness for about 4 minutes.

Upon their return, the crew seemed filled with a euphoric joy; the type you experience when you can afford to go to space for 11 minutes.

But one member seemed off: Katy Perry.

After studying Perry’s off kilter disposition, her crouched stance and elongated skull, it hit me:

Oh my god. That’s not Katy Perry. That’s a xenomorph pretending to be Katy Perry.

But how is no one else clocking this?! Am I gaslighting myself? I rubbed my eyes with my fists to make sure I was seeing this right.

Yup, that’s a xenomorph dressed as Katy Perry and everyone’s buying it!

And now he just collected her belongings and hopped in a car with Orlando Bloom! Even Orlando can’t tell?! Guess Hollywood is full of phony couples after all.

“To Rodeo Drive. I’ve got some Earth shopping to do,” said the xenomorph as he thumbed through Katy Perry’s various credit cards.

As their car drove off, I looked through the car window and saw the xenomorph kiss Orlando Bloom on the mouth. This is one tricky fucker.

Since I was the only one to see this xenomorph’s true identity, I felt responsible to end his charade.

But just as I was about to DM PopCrave with the tip, I received a push notification from one of Katy Perry’s social media accounts:

“In celebration of the 15th anniversary of my album Teenage Dream, I’ll be releasing a sequel album called Adult Dream! Out May 9th!

Here’s the first single: Firework in Space.”

I clicked play on the video and it was the xenomorph dressed as Katy Perry singing “Firework in Space” from the car.

It was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

One of the best “Katy Perry” songs I’ve heard in my life and the fans in the comments agreed.

That’s when it hit me: if the xenomorph makes everyone happy - Orlando, the fans - who am I to ruin that?

So, I’ll keep my mouth shut and Katy Perry’s secret will be mine to keep. I’m trusting you, the reader, will keep this secret as well.

I never thought this would be a problem when I made the decision to get severed:

My innie is obsessed with meats.

When I got off work the other week, I felt sick. I stopped by the front desk on my way out of the building to ask what happened, and they told me, “Your innie ate a lot today. Got his new shipment of meats in.”

Huh? New shipment of meats?

Why are they allowing my innie to make purchases, and why is he ordering so much meat?!

A few days later, when I arrived home after work, there was a large crate on my doorstep. Sure enough, it was a 50 pound crate of assorted meats. Steaks, burgers, pork chops and prosciutto - this crate had it all.

Then I dared check the price of the box: $247!!

The box of meats alone was $185, but my innie selected a $62 rush shipping option.

Oh my god, we don’t have this money! What is he doing?!

The following day when I arrived at work, I stopped by the front desk once more for some answers:

Hey, what’s all this meat stuff about? It needs to stop.

“I don’t know what to tell you. The man down there - your innie - he’s insatiable. He’s obsessed with meats.”

How does he even have my credit card details down there?!

“It’s a long story, but essentially he guessed.

He got 5 minutes of internet browsing time as a reward, and when he got a popup for a meats delivery service, like a sleeper cell spy, he was able to put in his card details from memory. Just rattled the number off like nothing.

We’ve tried using him as a case study, but the only conclusion we’ve arrived at is he really wanted those meats.”

I don’t even have my card details memorized! Can you at least get him to stop ordering these boxes?

“I’ll try, but the folks downstairs aren’t really keen to get in between you and the meats.

They say as long as you ship it to your home, they won’t get in the way.

You sent the first few shipments here and no one in the mailroom was expecting perishables, and it stunk up that whole section of the floor.”

When I called my credit card company to dispute the charges, they claimed I didn’t have a credible case as I was technically the individual purchasing the meats.

When I called the assorted meat shipping company, they required security questions only my innie knows.

My leadership at work won’t intervene because they say I “become violent” when anyone talks about taking my meats away.

I never thought this would be a problem when I made the decision to get severed.

   While the title Wicked: For Good is well intentioned, a minor mistake was made as the title includes a pun on the number 4 instead the number 2.
   
   Being that this is the second Wicked movie and not the fourth, this is absolutely confusing.
   
   Changing the title to Wicked: Too Good would both include a pun on the number 2, and would indicate to the audience that the movie is really good.

10. A new god, Pezzle, comes out
    Pezzle, the god of confusion, is revealed and offers followers questions rather than answers.
    
    Pezzle is a refreshing twist on existing deities and amasses followers who are looking to lose themselves in riddle.

The time was 11:50pm on New Year’s Eve.

We were all excited to enter the new year, but I began to grow nervous as it was my year to lead the New Year’s Eve countdown.

My friends and I trade off countdown duties every year so no one person has to solely carry the weight of starting the count.

With minutes to go, my friend’s new boyfriend, Terrance, approached me and asked, “Hey, can I start the countdown this year?”

Then at 11:59 and 40 seconds, Terrance began counting: “20… 19… 18…”

What the heck? He’s counting down starting from 20?!

My friends and I looked at one another as if to say, “Yeah, right,” but he kept going… and going… and going until he got all the way to 1, and shouted “Happy New Years!” with his shit eating grin.

The clock turned 12:08 and everyone had congratulated Terrance on his countdown:

• “That was the best countdown we’ve ever had!”

• “You better be back next year.”

All I could think about is how that should have been me.

I had to speak with Terrance and let him know what was on my mind before leaving.

“Terrance, that wasn’t cool what you pulled back there,” I told him. “You know, usually we start the countdown from 10, not 20.”

He smiled at me and said, “Okay, champ,” before leaving the room.

On the drive home, my wife told me she thought of a new name for our expected baby: Terrance.

The year 2024 included many highs and lows and we’re coming out the other side with a clear picture of what mattered this year.

One confident cousin is putting his Graphic Design degree to use by creating a watermark for his memes.

My own cousin, Jason Minter (@FunnyMemezMaster69 on Instagram), runs an Instagram page filled with memes that could generously be described as "amusing." Jason's meme account has attracted ten's of followers and it has gone to his head. A recent post shows the newly created watermark, ensuring no one can steal Jason's material. Take a look:

In this newly created meme, Jason shows how confused an American might be when they must distinguish a crepe from a pancake - a challenge I don't believe many are facing.

This meme, which features a spelling error, two watermarks, and a faulty premise, has exploded on Jason's account. The meme has 24 likes and 3 comments, all of which are lauding Jason for his humorous take on the non-existent conundrum that is telling apart packages and crepes. Luckily for Jason, he can rest assured knowing that no one can steal his meme without being held accountable by his watermark.

It was a Tuesday morning when I received the email: "You've Been Selected to Turn Into An Avatar!"

Time stopped.

Prior to my transformation, I wanted nothing more than to become an Avatar. I would often tell my 8-year-old nephew, "I want to be an Avatar so fucking bad." He replied, "You know they're called Na'vi, right?" and that's when I learned they were actually called the Na'vi.

I became obsessed with every aspect of Na'vi culture: their blue skin, their tall frame, their wiry tails. They were everything I wanted to be.

The email instructed me to arrive at an address in Arcadia and to bring a cashier's cheque for $1,500. Upon Google searching the address, I found that the location was once a sensory depravation tank business that was now "Temporarily Closed." Although some would be wary of these details, I was willing to look past them because I wanted to be a Na'vi more than anything in this world.

The next day I showed up to the address with my cashier's cheque and was greeted by a Na'vi expert named Denis Petrovosky. Denis handed me headphones, a water cap and told me to climb into a dark tank before saying, "Enjoy Pandoru," and closing the tank door. The tank had shallow waters for me to lie in - a familiar environment for the Metkayina Na'vi.

The next thing I knew, Denis was welcoming me back to my Earthly body. As I dried off, Denis handed me a photo of me in my Avatar body. While I did not remember the memories shown in the photograph, I was ecstatic to see myself in my Avatar body right next to Jake Sully. The only problem? My Avatar was still 5'10" and ugly! I was mortified. Had I met Corporal Jake Sully looking like that? While all the other Na'vi were tall enough to dunk basketballs, was I not tall enough to dunk basketballs? Was I swimming slower due to my short, stubby limbs? There was no way of knowing since I could not remember a single thing from my time on Pandora.
